Is this thing on?
Hey all!
First and foremost, a huge shout out to everyone reading this and supporting Murdeer throughout its infancy. We're so happy you're here and hope you'll be just as excited about the future as we on the team are!
Murdeer debuted a late-stage alpha build at MIT for a pre-PAX East convention demo night. We've uploaded that build to our itch page, which will be the final update for Murdeer in its alpha form. We may briefly edit the updates to fix bugs (mostly in the web version) and create better tutorials, but they will not be touched further. Instead, you can expect a free beta, very early in June, on Steam. We will update this page accordingly with the link when the time comes.
What features are we adding? I'm so glad you asked:
- Revamped UI + Graphics (same old retro vibe, no more unreadable text!)
- 10 bespoke levels that are 3x the size of the current ones
- Updates to core gameplay loop to lean in on a roguelite concept
- 3D shop
- New powerup items, crazy bullet effects like vampire bullets, bouncy bullets, and snails-that-follow-you-forever-and-kill-you bullets
- New enemies and even crazier animations!
- ...and more!
We are aiming to have the majority of these features implemented for the beta, in a much smaller setting of just the first few levels.
